MonDay is a community based correctional facility that provides a secure treatment environment for probationable felony offenders. MonDay challenges offenders to modify their behavior to become responsible citizens by utilizing holistic programming. The Medical Office provides medical services to the residents and is staffed by medical professionals in a doctor's office environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

MEDICAL:
Assists in the completion of new resident physicals.
Gather information from incoming residents for health problems and/or injuries tht occurred prior to entry.
Takes and interprets vital signs.
Prepares residents for various medical procedures.
Contacts physicians, medical institutions, and specific individuals to obtain information necessary to insure adequate health care for residents.
Assists physician and/or Dentist.
Receives and carries out Physician's orders.
Schedules medical appointments.
Assists in employee administering flu shots, TB testing and facilitation of CPR and First Aid training. 
Counsels and teaches health and hygiene program to residents.
Ensures the confidentiality of all medical records according to HIPAA regulations.
Performs routine maintenance of clinical equipment.

ADMINISTRATIVE:
Ensures all documents for all medical treatment rendered are completed.
Update medical files.
Assists in conducting monthly inventory of medical supply cabinet in each section.
Orders approved medication and supplies as required.


MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1.Possession of a valid LPN License from the State of Ohio.
2.Graduate of an approved practical nursing program is required.
3.Possession of current CPR Certification.
4.Two years experience as a practicing LPN required.
5.Chemical Dependency, mental health, and/or institutional experience desired.
6.Knowledge of general orders, treatment protocol orders; knowledge of inventory control; knowledge of the standard operating procedures and equipment of the Medical Department; knowledge of all emergency procedures; ability to assess potentially dangerous situations and take the appropriate action; ability to make sound and reasonable decisions under stressful conditions; ability to follow specific instructions and guidelines.
7.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written reports.
8.Ability to gather, collect, and classify information about data, people, or things.
9.Familiarity with personal computers and standard software packages desired.
10.Possession of a valid State of Ohio Driver's License.

1.Ability to lift  and carry up to light to heavy objects.
2.Ability to stand and walk for a large percentage of the work day.
3.Ability to see and hear in order to carry out duties and responsibilities effectively.
4.Ability to demonstrate dexterity to use hands skillfully.
